 EDU review:
The saucy elf-boy who stole the straight-girl's hearts at EDU plays a devilish fiddle (maybe some sort of duel could be arranged?). We thought the vocals were straight outta Brainstorm (Latvia, 2000) which is a massive plus!
Norton: "Having heard him a few times, Alex's is now a face I would quite like to slap."
Astonishingly (for a quickly annoying song) Fairytale achieved an average of 9.44 votes from the 41 (non-Norwegian) nations voting. This is only beaten by another sickly sweet ESC classic - 'Save All Your Kisses for Me' by Brotherhood of Man (1976) which managed 9.65 votes from the 17 non-UK nations voting that year.
